A Truly Wonderful Idea...

I was looking thru the great blog, Tangle and True, and saw this! I must have one! Just imagining all the stuffed animal clutter in my girls' room being contained in such a manner gets me all excited! Someone is a genius (and probably a Mom!)



You stuff all of the kids' stuffed animals (that they will NOT depart with) into the bag. The animals can still be kept/seen to satisfy the kidlets, but they are contained to satisfy the parents. Plus, you get a cute little chair out of the deal! These wonderful bags can be purchased at All Modern Baby. Thanks Tangled and True, you made my night!

Trees

Tree murals are a common request for muralists. I've done lots (most of my pics were lost when my computer crashed years ago. Too tragic to talk about!) and my favorite was a grand purple tree I painted in an alphabet nursery.

These trees used for holiday decorations could be tweeked to become great decor for a child's room.

I can imagine a tree silhouette like this one out of paper - or paint - in a child's space. How cute would it be to then "hang" silhouettes of family members and/or pets on the tree?!!

This tree, used as a Christmas Tree here, would be awesome in a room any time of year. It would be so cute to hang bright animals, toys, shapes on the tree. It could become a huge mobile for baby, probably wouldn't work for a destructive toddler, but it could be something fun for an older child to decorate themselves.


I can imagine a ceiling full of these branches for a jungle or forest room.

The trees in this room are amazing!


This 3-D tree is really fun! The branches seem to be crafted from silk ivy, but I can't guess how they made the tree trunk. What a great view this baby gets when he/she wakes up in the morning! From HGTV Rate My Space

My Very First Mural

This is the mural that started my love affair with painting. I'm not sure where I even got the idea to paint a mural. I hadn't paid much attention to them before I started designing my first child's nursery - didn't even know that there was such a thing as a "mural artist". All I know is that I had purchased a really cute Noah's Ark scrapbook paper and I wanted her room to look like that paper! I had no clue what I was doing when I started, and only had a few art classes under my belt, but I just went for it and started painting away and had the time of my life! I like to think I've learned a lot about mural painting since that day over 10 years ago and that I have improved my skill, but this room will always be my favorite! It was a special room for a very special little girl- the baby we had waited 6 years for!
