Black in kids rooms?!?

Since I just posted about having an all-white nursery/kids room, I thought I would also post some pictures featuring the other half of my favorite color scheme of black and white. Using black in a kids space seems even more unlikely then using white. I always think of kids rooms as being colorful and bright and neither black or white fit that idea. From the pictures I found for my white-room post, and then those for this post, I now seen how lovely either color - or non-color - can be in a child's space. Hope you enjoy these pictures!

This room is SO cute. I love that striped ceiling. It took guts to paint a yellow striped ceiling over a black wall, but it so works!

This is the sweetest black sheep lamp, but I wonder if the child whose room it goes into won't one day wonder if his parents were hinting at something - like his status in the family! :)
